Las Vegas Boulevard - Luxury Five Star Hotels
Las Vegas has always been known for its luxury five-star hotels. However, despite being five-star hotels, if you visit at the right time such as during the off-season, these five-star hotels are actually not as expensive as you think.
If you come during holidays, weekends, conventions, and events, etc., the price may be several times than the normal average. The city's largest revenues come from entertainment (like shows and other stuff)and gambling, so they often try to attract consumers and gamblers by offering relatively low room rates.

If there is a large group of friends who want to stay together and party. They usually come with a large swimming pool and a barbecue backyard.
Three things to think of when choosing the hotel (Location, Budget, Preference)
1. Location
Most of the famous hotels and casinos are located on the Las Vegas Strip. The strip is the most popular toursim area in Las Vegas. When most people are deciding on hotels, they tend to sort by price and try to find the cheapest one. However, these cheapest hotels may often times be far from the center of the strip. If your hotel location is poor, you may end up spending more money on taxi and time in the traffic.
Try to find a hotel that's closer to the center of the strip. If the hotel you found is too far off the center of the strip, we recommend that you don't even consider it.If you save money by choosing some place way off, you end up spending more time on transportation. Also, wasting time in the traffic may not be worth it after all..
Vegas.comuses Google Maps to build an interactive map. You can use it to see the location of the hotel and the price at the same time. It's quite convenient for doing a hotel search for Vegas.Click here to head to the Vegas.com interactive map page
You can use it to check the hotel location and price but you don't necessarily have to book it through their platform. We have included some booking tips in the later sections of this post.
2. Budget
Obviously, location won't be your only filter for finding the hotel, else everyone would be staying at the Bellagio, Caesars Palace, or Cosmopolitan and Aria, which are the hotels at the center of the strip. Budget, is the next filter that comes in. Some high-end hotels offer low rates if you come in and stay during mid-week or off-season. Average hotel price in Vegas for a four-star-hotel is around 150-200. But that does not include the resort fee (which may vary from 300 to 50).
Note: It is important to note that each hotel will charge a "Resort fee". This fee is mainly called the fee for the use of hotel facilities, which generally includes the use of room Wifi, gym, swimming pool, parking fee, etc. , even if you don’t use these facilities, this fee will still be collected compulsorily.. When making a reservation, pay special attention to how much the hotel will cost. This fee averages between $25-$40+ per night, and may be as high as $45-$50+ per night at higher-end hotels. Often when the room price is cheap, this fee is higher than the room price. This fee will be paid upon check-out.
3. Personal Preferences
The Las Vegas Strip is full of hotels, ranging from the most ordinary motels, acceptable small hotels, to the most luxurious five-star hotels. Even if you filter the location and budget, there are still several to consider.
Now it comes down to your personal preferences.
Each hotel has its own unique style. For example, the most famous hotel: Bellagio has an Italian with elegant palace style;Caesars Palace with an Ancient Roman style; The Mirage Has a tropical jungle atmosphere;Pyramid Hotel Luxor Hotel with Egypt's pyramid appearance;Paris Hotel has a mini Effiel Tower next to the building;New York New York Hotel New York New York with the reproduction of New York City, and the mini Statue of Liberty.
In fact, you don’t need to stay in this hotel to visit. No matter which hotel you stay in, you can visit these hotels and most of the attractions. But if it’s a pool party, that’s a separate discussion because that’s a ticketed event. Moreover, hotels will reserve swimming pools for staying guests. Higher-end hotels usually have higher-end and complete outdoor swimming pools.
Base on your preference, you can choose the right hotel with the style you like the most. If you don't like the style of the hotel, even if it's five stars, it may not be worth it after all. On the contrary, if you like the hotel, even if it's a three-star economy hotel, you can still be content. If you are staying more than one day, you can also consider hotel hopping and choose more than one hotel to stay in.
Room types introduction
In most cases, most people only book the most basic hotel room and don't really know much about the differences of rooms and high-end suites. In Vegas, it's a different story. People come here to party and enjoy a good time. Experiencing high-end hotel rooms is a must in Vegas. This city is all about hospitality and if it's not during the peak seaon or holiday, the rooms aren't so expensive compared to other cities. In other major cities like New York or San Francisco, you could be paying two hundred dollars for a three-star hotel. In Vegas, you could probably pay the same amount for a suite.
To understand room types more specifically, we break down room types into roughly four categories: Room, Suite, Penthouse, Villa
Regular room - The most basic room type
Many hotels will add "Deluxe" or "Resort" in front of the name, but they are the same thing after all.
However, if it is the "Tower Room", it is different. In most cases, Tower rooms are in a different class, which normally has its dedicated elevator entrance like a VIP.
The picture above shows Mirage resort queen
Suite — Advanced room type (wide range of levels)
In fact, suites varies a lot. However, as long as they are called suites, they should have a small living area with a sofa. The advanced suites may have that living area in a separate room. Most suites also come with a guest bathroom.
Some suites will exceed the Penthouse level, which we will describe in the next section, such as the high-end suites like the Presidential Suite, which is a more luxurious, larger living rooms and multiple rooms.
Pictured here is the Bellagio Salone Suite (source: Bellagio.com)
Penthouse - Superior Room Type
When it's called penthouse, there are certain criteria met. It usually includes a large living room, a separate dining area, and a bar. There are also one room or two room penthouses. The master bedroom should at least have a large bathroom and a dressing table and a storage room.
The picture above shows Aria one bedroom penthouse
Villa - Highest Class Room Type
Usually, fewer people will notice this type of room, the price for one night ranges from three thousand to tens of thousands of dollars a night. Most of these top suites are on the top floor of the hotel and have the best view.
Most of the time they are large with a luxurious living room, and some with a private outdoor spa (like MGM Skyloft), private massage room, or private gym. The picture below shows Wynn's top-floor three-bedroom villa, in addition to a luxurious large living room, it has a with a billiard room and a small gym.

Additional Tips For Booking Hotels
1. Compare on different platforms
First of all, the most basic booking technique which most people already know is "Compare". But which sites should you really check and how many of them actually offer discounts?
Here are the ones we recommend:
Platform name | Features
Vegas.com | A dedicated platform for Las Vegas that provides room reservations (including routes to North America, Asia and around the world) "Flight and hotel" package), booking shows, English tour groups and attraction tickets, etc. Because they specialize in Las Vegas travel products, you can refer to their prices as they often have price discounts.
Booking.com | The world's largest hotel reservation platform, with the largest selection of Las Vegas hotel room types.
IFunVegas | We have independently negotiated contracts with the hotels here, and sometimes the prices we can provide are more favorable than those available online. You need to consult with us to check the hotel and date. We accept credit card and Paypal payments. (Click here to fill out the inquiry form)
Suiteness | The US high-end reservation platform is specially designed to book a superior room type above the suite. The platform has very good surrounding services (English): For example, if you want to have a party in the room, a birthday party, etc., they can help arrange it. |
We can assist you in booking hotels, pleasehead over to fill out the form
2. Use Apps to get extra discounts
There are many travel platforms that have apps, and they normally reward app users with extra discounts that are not visible on the site. Expedia sometimes has additional discounts if you book through their App. There's an app called Hotel Tonight After downloading, you can unlock hotel prices that sometimes are lower than anywhere else on the internet!
There were already discounted hotels in app. They've recently rolled out a new feature where you can unlock a special rate once a day. However, you will need to act within 15 mins upon unlocking it.
3. Just book the cheapest room type and try to upgrade when you check in.
If the room you book isn't very expensive, it probably means not that many people are traveling to Vegas that week. The hotels are probably not in high occupancy.
When you book, we recommend that you book the basic room and try for an upgrade upon checking in. Even if it's not a free upgrade, most of the time you can still pay less to upgrade to a better room compared to if you book in advance and pay the full price.
When checking in at the counter, when asking for ID and credit card, put a $20 dollar bill in the middle, and politely ask if there is any upgrade available (you can say: Is there any upgrade available?) Although the $20 dollar is considered a tip At the same time, if the upgrade is successful, the value will be much more than the $20, so it is worth trying. Even if you cannot upgrade, the counter will usually refund the $20, so don't worry.
4. Book early and choose off-season or mid-week
If you are traveling to Las Vegas purely for tourism and not to participate in specific activities, you can choose to visit on weekdays or during off-season weeks when there are fewer activities. Prices on weekdays are usually two to three times different from those on Fridays and Saturdays. For example, Bellagio may cost $200 to $300 a night on weekends, but you can book it for as little as $100 on weekdays. If you book a room more than two to three weeks in advance, the price is usually higher than the price. In the end, last-minute bookings are much cheaper, unless there is a large-scale event or exhibition being held in Las Vegas.
Once you decide you are traveling to Vegas, booking early can actually save you a decent amount of money.
5. Make good use of the "air ticket and hotel" package
A flight and wine package is usually much cheaper than booking separately (you may save 20-30% of the room price). However, there are pros and cons. Although you can save a lot by making good use of in-flight drinks, you need to book them in advance because in-flight drinks involve air tickets.
Because the closer the flight date is to the travel date, the higher the price will be. We recommend booking at least three weeks in advance for a better price.
However, there are two main cons of booking air+hotel bundles:
1. Ticket time limit
A lot of air and hotel package has a very low price but then you realize you either have to take the first flight early in the morning or arrive late at night, which are the least favorable travel times.
2. You are bond to staying in one hotel
You can only choose one hotel instead of many. (In Vegas, a lot of people stay in different hotels to experience different style of resorts, the so called "hotel hopping" experience opportunity is now gone!
